The ‘Women’s Votes, Women’s Voices’ programme demystifies how politics works in Northern Ireland, what decisions mean for everyday life, how elections run, and what our elected representatives actually do. So women can feel informed, confident, and ready to vote.
The programme is made up of 4 sessions, with each addressing an important aspect of politics in Northern Ireland.
Week 1

Session 1 is an introduction to Northern Irish politics. It provides an overview of our political and governmental structures as well as the parties in NI and what they stand for.
Week 2

Session 2 explains why using your vote matters as women. We’ll demystify Northern Ireland’s two voting systems, First Past the Post, Single Transferable Vote and learn how each work to decide who wins.
Week 3

In session 3 learn how to cut through campaign noise, evaluate party manifestos, compare policies, check evidence, and spot red flags or unrealistic promises. You’ll leave with a simple checklist you can use throughout campaign season and at your door.
Week 4

Session 4 will recap the last 3 weeks and use this new knowledge to dive into the issues you care about most. We’ll create practical checklists and question prompts you can use with political candidates to raise your priorities and ask for clear commitments.
This programme is available to any group or organisation; workplaces, networks, clubs, schools, charities, or informal collectives, it is best delivered in person as it is very interactive, but can be adjusted for online delivery. Fees are negotiable and based on your size and budget.
